Book Review: Mortal Heart

TITLE: Mortal Heart
Book 3 in the His Fair Assassin Trilogy
AUTHOR: Robin LaFevers
PUBLISHED: November 4th, 2014
CATEGORY: YA
GENRE: Historical fiction (though considering things, I think it now falls more into historical fantasy)
PREMISE: The historical romance trilogy draws to a close as Annith gets her chance to shine.
MY REVIEW: If you've been a fan of this trilogy then you probably already have an idea of what's in store here. Girl trained as an assassin goes off on a mission. Finds beau to flirt with. Solves political messes along the way.
These books have been pretty standard formula I admit. But I also don't care. It's fun historical romance that doesn't make me want to scream at all the sexism. I'll take it. This one also drew the trilogy to a close in a satisfactory way. We get to find out what happens to the other girls along with Annith and some of the loose ends left in the other series are solved.
So formula it may be, but if you're going to do formula, this is the way to do it. As a fan of this series, I for one was totally satisfied. Can't wait to see what LaFevers comes up with next.
WHO SHOULD READ: fans of the other two books, Outlander fans, historical romance fans
MY RATING: Four out of Five archer bows
