I haven't done one of these in awhile, have I? My bad. I've been working Sundays a lot and tend to forget to post on those days as a result. Going to try and be better about it from now on. Anyway, here's the haul:

Defy Book 1 by Sara Larson-Yes, I'm using Net Galley again. Lets see if I can stick with it this year. First up: New fantasy series that sounds a lot like Tortall. Will try to do the author a favor and not judge it by those standards because that would just be totally unfair to the author.
The V Trilogy Book 1: The Unseemly Education of Anne Merchant by Joanna Wiebe-Looks like a mystery boarding school thing. I adore those even if I'm sure this will be cheese.

Earthsea Cycle series Book 1: A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula Le Guin-One of the series that was on my list of books to tackle this year was Earthsea. I know, I know, how can I call myself a fantasy fan and not have read this. Slipped my mind?
Library Haul:
The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson-Anderson's newest. Can't wait to read.
The Naturals Book 1 by Jennifer Lynn Barnes-Teens helping the FBI solve cases using powers=me totally in. Plus, I tend to love Barnes' stuff anyway.
Magical Bakery Mystery series Book 1: Brownies and Broomsticks by Bailey Cates-Cozy mystery with witches. I have a weakness for these.
The True Adventures of Nicolo Zen by Nicholas Christopher-Historical Fantasyish debut that looked interesting.
Splintered Book 2: Unhinged by A. G. Howard-Managed to get this one on reserve literally just as they got it in. Sometimes it pays to stalk the library catalog.
Altered series Book 2: Erased by Jennifer Rush-See above.
Palace of Spies Book 1: Palace of Spies by Sarah Zettel-I love Zettel's other series The American Fairy Trilogy (totally unappreciated series). I look forward to her tackling historical mystery.
Birthright Trilogy Book 3: In the Age of Love and Chocolate by Gabrielle Zevin-Still not sure how on earth you can ban chocolate (and why on earth you would want too), but this series still makes for a good read.

Stacking the Shelves: September 9th
This is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga over at Tynga's Reviews that tells people what new books we've gotten over the week.
Bought at Barnes and Noble:
The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling)-Yes, I caved and bought the Rowling book. For the record I totally understand why she wrote under a different name and I think she basically proved that there is reader prejudice towards certain authors like herself. Instead of getting angry at her, maybe readers should take a long look at themselves and ask why they never would have read this book if it had been printed under her name even though they enjoyed it just fine when they didn't know it was written by JK Rowling.
Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Book 6: The Enchantress by Michael Scott-Final book! ;sniffs;

Women of the Otherworld series Book 11: Waking the Witch by Kelley Armstrong-I admit it: I skipped books 9 and 10. From what I understand they're basically just one-shots that don't really add anything huge to the story and I was anxious to get to Savannah. Maybe after I finish these, I'll read 9 and 10...
Mercy Thompson series Book 7: Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs-Did I say I was quitting the Mercy series? Yeah, I lied.
Crank series Book 1: Crank by Ellen Hopkins-Finally given Hopkins a shot. I'm not a huge verse/poetry person so I've been avoiding these books since I know it's written in that style. But I thought I'd take the plunge. We'll see how it goes...;eyes book warily;
Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay-Giving this one a shot, even though Jay is on and off for me as a writer.
Vampire Queen series Book 2: Stolen Nights by Rebecca Maizel-Library FINALLY had this.
Lying Games series Book 4: Hide and Seek by Sara Shepard-Trying to get caught up on the series which I like way better then the PLL books.
Still Star-Crossed by Melinda Taub-Book that apparently goes into what happens AFTER Romeo and Juliet die. Bring it.

Mortal Fire by Elizabeth Knox-YA debut that I confess, I mostly picked up due to gorgeous cover. But also the story sounds like something right up my alley.
Arclight Book 1 by Josin L. McQuein-I've heard very mixed reviews about this debut. So I've decided to check it out for myself and decide.
Revenants series Book 3: If I Should Die by Amy Plum-I have a love/hate relationship with the Revenants series but I love it more then it annoys me so here we are.
Rebel Spirits by Lois Ruby-YA debut that sounds like a good old-fashioned ghost story like Ruined by Paula Morris. I love those.
The Cahill Witch Chronicles by Jessica Spotswood-sequel to one of my favorite debuts from last year. Can't wait to read it!

Grisha Trilogy Book 2: Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo-No, I have no idea how I managed to get this one from the library so early. I suspect library gods are involved (by library gods, I mean the librarians who know me on sight and probably whisper to themselves "it's her again")
Born of Illusion Book 1: Born of Illusion by Teri Brown-Historical fantasy involving Russian history. Bring it on.
Masque of the Red Death Book 2: Dance of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin-Was somewhat lukewarm about Masque of the Red Death, but it was good enough for me to want to pick up the sequel.
Sookie Stackhouse series Book 14: Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris-The last Sookie Stackhouse book. ;cries; Well, next to last I guess since apparently Harris is releasing a wrap-up book of sorts this October that's going to answer questions about what happened to various characters. Which I thought was supposed to be what the last book of a series was for, but I guess not.
Splintered Book 1: Splintered by A. G. Howard-Fantasy that's supposed to be about Alice in Wonderland. Hopefully this goes better then Alice in Zombieland.
How to Lead a Life of Crime by Kirsten Miller-From the author of the Kiki Strike series so I had to give it a look.
Ustari Cycle series Book 1: Trickster by Jeff Somers-Adult UF thing that looked interesting but I've already tried reading it and couldn't get past the fifth chapter so don't expect a review.
Spies and Prejudice by Talia Vance-Pride and Prejudice redo with spies? Sign me the hell up.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green-Yes, I'm officially on the John Green bandwagon, even if I still wish people (namely literature snobs) would stop acting like he's an anomaly in the YA section. Green is good, but he's not the only good writer in YA like I've seen a few people claim. Green himself would tell you this isn't the case (because he's awesome like that).
Hex Hall spin-off book 1: School Spirits by Rachel Hawkins (or Hex Hall book 4. Whichever)-I totally forgot this was coming out! Strange, I've seen next to no reviews for it...

The Book of Madness and Cures by Regina O'Melveny-Historical fiction debut I won in a goodreads giveaway.

Goodnight Family series Book 2: Spirit and Dust by Rosemary Clement-Moore-I'm always up for a Clement-Moore book (she's seriously underrated) and I adored Texas Gothic so I can't wait to read this follow up which involves my favorite character from Texas Gothic: Daisy. Bring it.
Pretty Girl 13 by Liz Coley-YA debut I've been meaning to read.
The Engelsfors Trilogy Book 1: The Circle by Sara Elfgren and Mats Strandberg-YA debut/new trilogy that looked interesting.
Strangelets by Michelle Gagnon-YA debut that sounds...interesting.
Wasteland Trilogy Book 1: Wasteland by Susan Kim and Laurance Klaven-YA debut and new trilogy.
The Caged Graves by Dianne K. Salerni-YA debut (seems to be my week for them...) that's a historical mystery of sorts.
In the Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters-YA debut that's a historical paranormal mystery thing that sounds like it's made of win.
The Program Book 1: The Program by Suzanne Young-Never read anything by Young before (no interest before) but this one sounded interesting and I've heard good things.

Vampire Huntress Legend series book 1: Minion by L. A. Banks-Me trying out the UF series that I should have read long ago.
Elemental Assassin series Book 3: Venom by Jennifer Estep-Already reading and am loving it as always with Estep.
I Hunt Killers Book 1 by Barry Lyga-2012 book I originally had no interest in, but have seen a few rave reviews about and so have changed my mind.
Colors of Madeleine Book 1: A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty-Start of a new trilogy that sounds interesting.
Strands of Bronze and Gold by Jane Nickerson-2013 debut that looks awesome.
Icons book 1: Icons by Margeret Stohl-It's going to be interesting reading Stohl's book (as well as Garcia's book coming out later this year) and seeing what their writing is like separate from each other. Plus, this one sounds awesome. It's one of my anticipated books of the year.

Looking For Alaska by John Green-Yes, my friends, I am FINALLY going to read John Green. I figured the award winner was the best way to go and people keep telling me to read this one first so Looking for Alaska it is. I really hope I like this because the John Green fandom is huge and I don't want to piss them off.
Delirium Book 3: Requiem by Lauren Oliver-Final Delirium book which I've been looking forward too. Apparently everyone hated it, which probably means I'll love it. Every time people bitch about the third book in a trilogy, I wind up loving it and not knowing what they're talking about (see: Mockingjay, 3rd Hex Hall book, 3rd His Dark Materials book, etc.)

Legacy series Book 1: Legacy" by Molly Cochran-One of those old series I meant to read but forgot about.
Elemental Assassin Book 2: Web of Lies by Jennifer Estep-Trying to get this series caught up this year.
His Fair Assassin Trilogy Book 2: Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers-Sequel to Grave Mercy. Do I need to explain why I wanted to read this? Yeah, didn't think so.
Partials Book 2: Fragments by Dan Wells-sequel to Partials which was good enough that I'm continuing it.
Poison by Bridget Zinn-Debut by a sadly, now deceased author. I've been itching to read this one since I've heard about it.

Finishing School Book 1: Etiquette and Espionage by Gail Carriger-I'm off my book buying ban! I managed to whittle down my bought books pile to two books. To celebrate I bought another book. This can't go wrong, right?
Library haul:
Unremembered Trilogy Book 1: Unremembered by Jessica Brody-New mystery trilogy about a girl with amnesia. I can't resist the amnesia trope.
Beta series Book 1: Beta by Rachel Cohn-leftover read from 2012 I meant to read. Currently reading and so far...reminds me an awful lot of AI. Hopefully it's not as dull as AI was.
Notes From Ghost Town by Kate Ellison-I was honestly not that into Butterfly Clues but I really liked Ellison's writing style so I'm giving this one a shot. But if I discover it's not for me either, then I'm afraid Ellison and I will have to part ways.
The Iron Codex Trilogy Book 3: The Mirrored Shard by Caitlin Kittredge-I seem to be the only one who has actually read this trilogy...I think I've seen a grand total of one review among book bloggers for it. This makes me sad.
Across the Universe Book 3: Shades of Earth by Beth Revis-FINALLY off of reserve! Only took three tries.
Madman's Daughter Trilogy Book 1: The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepard-2013 debut based on The Island of Dr. Moreau.
Mind Games Book 1: Mind Games by Kiersten White-Heard mixed reviews about this one but it's by the author of my favorite the Paranormalcy Trilogy so I'm still reading it.

The Hangman's Daughter series Book 1 by Oliver Potzsch-Adult mystery/historical fiction Series I've been meaning to check out and I managed to catch it during a daily deal when it was 99 cents (it isn't anymore though).
Bi-Weekly Library Haul:
Dance of Shadows Trilogy Book 1: Dance of Shadows by Yelena Black-2013 debut. I've read mixed reviews about this one and honestly the premise looks rather corny so my expectations are rather low but I'm giving it a shot.
Heist Society Book 3: Perfect Scoundrels by Ally Carter-Have I mentioned I love this series? I haven't? Well, I do and I'm sad it's not more popular. Though word on the street is there's a movie deal so that may change ;crosses fingers and hopes that it actually happens;
Shades of London Book 2: Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson-I loved In the Name of the Star. It wasn't your typical Maureen book true, but it still had her flair with a paranormal setting so I can't wait to read this. Though personally, I don't care for the new covers they gave it. Plus, why is the UK cover so much cooler than ours?
Shatter Me Book 2: Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi-Somewhat lukewarm about Shatter Me (those crossed out sentences got on my nerves after awhile and turned from clever to gimicky fast) but the way it ended sort of made it so you have to find out what happens so here I am with the second book and hoping it's better than the first.
Dani O'Malley series Book 1 (or Fever book 7): Iced by Karen Marie Moning-Fever spin-off series about Dani. It is everything I wanted in a book about Dani (I've already finished it, review forthcoming).
Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys-Confession: I have never read Between Shades of Grey. I know, I know. It's on the list. It just looks like one of those emotionally exhausting books and I tend to save those books for a time when I'm in the mood like a rainy day or something.
Article 5 Book 2: Breaking Point by Kristen Simmons-One of the many dystopians last year that I think got unfairly overlooked due to it not being what people usually want from their YA dystopians (re: no love triangle).
Pivot Point Book 1: Pivot Point by Kasie West-2013 debut that I've heard good things about and am looking forward too.

Stacking the Shelves: March 10th
This is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga over at Tynga's Reviews that tells people what new books we've gotten over the week.
Just the usual bi-weekly library haul:
City of a Thousand Dolls by Miriam Forster-2013 YA debut that sounds rather awesome. This year's YA debuters are really stepping it up with coming up with interesting ideas other then girl meets boy who is a supernatural being...love ensues (and usually a love triangle as well). It's very nice to see. Not to say there is something wrong with those sort of plots; when done well, they can be entertaining. But lets face it: there are a lot of those plots around and it can get old fast.
Revel by Maurissa Guibord-I was a big fan of Guibord's vastly underrated Warped and am pleased she's back with what looks like another really creative fun idea.
The Friday Society by Adrienne Kress-Steampunk satire. Already ready read and reviewed (really liked it).
Legend Book 2: Prodigy by Marie Lu-FINALLY off of reserve!
NewSoul series Book 2: Asunder by Jodi Meadows-I was sort of lukewarm about Incarnate but it was good enough and creative enough that I'm continuing.
Angelfire series Book 3: Shadows in the Silence by Courtney Allison Moulton-Ending to one of the few angel series I actually like.
The Archived Book 1 by Victoria Schwab-Fantasy I can't wait to read because it sounds really awesome and creative.

The Faerie Ring series Book 2: The Torn Wing by Kiki Hamilton-I admit I was lukewarm about Faerie Ring but it was good enough that I'm interested in the sequel and this one is currently free on Kindle so I couldn't resist.
The Mist on Bronte Moor by Aviva Orr-Currently free on Kindle. Like the idea even if I raise my eyebrow at the idea of a teen girl who is unaware of who the Bronte family is. Even if you don't actively read most people have heard of Jane Eyre/Wuthering Heights and know the Bronte sisters wrote them so that seems highly implausible to me but I'm going to give the author the benefit of doubt.
From bookstores (combination of using up the last of the Christmas gift cards and being stuck at my store during a snowstorm):
Infernal Devices Book 2: Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare-Because Clockwork Princess comes out next month and while I think Mortal Instruments needs to just end already, this series I still enjoy.
Bloodlines Book 3: The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead-My guilty pleasure series continues.
The Lunar Chronicles Book 2: Scarlet by Marissa Meyer-Sequel to one of my top ten favorite books last year.
From the Library (to top off all the luck in the freebies and book buying, it was library week):
Sacred by Elana K. Arnold-Romance that I've actually already ditched because after a hundred pages of me rolling my eyes constantly it became clear this book wasn't for me.
Everneath series Book 2: Everbound by Brodi Ashton-Everneath was a fun guilty pleasure from last year so I'm mildly looking forward to this even if I'm really really tired of the Persephone retellings.
Tempest book 2: Vortex by Julie Cross-Tempest didn't really do much for me but every so often (such as the case with Across the Universe by Beth Revis) a series/trilogy becomes better in the second book so I'm giving it another shot. Expectations are low though.
The Pledge series book 2: The Essence by Kimberly Derting-Reading against my better judgement because I'm not convinced The Pledge really needed a sequel.
Just One Day book 1 by Gayle Forman-I don't normally do contemporary romance (especially in the YA category because all most all of them are pretty much alike) but Forman is one of my exceptions to the rule because her stuff, I like.
The Dead and Buried by Kim Harrington-A nice combination of ghost story/mystery that Harrington always excels at.
At Somerton Book 1: Cinders and Sapphires by Leila Rasheed-YA debut that promises me teen Downton Abbey. As a professed DA junkie, I'm looking forward to this.
Altered series Book 1: Altered by Jennifer Rush-YA 2013 debut that I've heard decent things about.

Visions Trilogy Book 1: Crash by Lisa McMann
New trilogy by the author of wake about a girl with visions. McMann can be off and on with me. So we'll see how this one goes. Come to think of it, I STILL need to finish the Wake Trilogy...
The Dragon King Chronicles Book 1: Prophecy by Ellen Oh
Fantasy YA debut that I'm currently reading. Honestly I have mixed feelings so far.
Revolution 19 by Gregg Rosenblum
I'm a sucker for robots trying to kill us all because honestly I firmly believe that any thing that will cause some sort of dystopian future will most likely be something humans built because frankly, we're dumb that way. Plus I just don't trust how dependent we've become on technology and wouldn't be at all surprised if that comes back to bite us in the butt later on. So this premise I totally want to read, even if it vaguely reminds me of the plot to iRobot.
Under the Never Sky Book 2: Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi
Under the Never Sky was a surprise for me last year. True, not a very original dystopian. But it was enjoyable, which in a crowded YA shelf that's making me tired of dystopians, is kind of a achievement in my book.

Just the usual library haul this week.
Drakon series Book 1: The Smoke Thief by Shana Abe. Adult series that I've already read and reviewed. Picked it up because the author has a YA series starting this year and I'd thought I'd see what her writing was like. Conclusion: love her writing/creativity didn't care for this particular book. I'm hoping the YA series will appeal more.
Crewel World Book 1: Crewel by Gennifer Albin-2012 debut that sounds awesome and that I've heard very good things about.
World of Kate Daniels Book 1: Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews-Spin-off series about the side characters of Kate Daniels? Sign me up!
Arcana Chronicles Book 1: Poison Princess by Kresley Cole. I've never read any of Cole's adult series, mostly because people compared her to Kenyon and Showalter and I'm not a fan of either of those authors. So low expectations for this one but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe it'll surprise me?
Confessions Book 1: Confessions of a Murder Suspect by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro-Because myself really decided I needed to read another Patterson series even though I have yet to finish the Maximum Ride series nor have his other series really grabbed me. Maybe fourth times the charm?
Defiance Trilogy Book 1: Defiance by C. J. Redwine-2012 debut that I missed out reading when it came out. My bad. Not to be confused with the Syfy series of the same name coming out this year that looks kind of awesome.
Undeadly by Michele Vail-One of those Harlequin teen things that can often go either way on the quality scale.

The Handmaid's Tale by Margeret Atwood-Amazon has been having some fabulous Kindle deals for the end of the year, this was one of them. I actually have read Handmaid's Tale ages ago for class before this dystopian thing hit big thanks to Hunger Games. May or may not do a reread review for it even though I don't often give reviews for classics because what can I say about a classic like this that hasn't already been said somewhere else? Plus with classics most people have already made up their mind if they are going to give them a shot or not.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Steve Chbosky-Meant to read this in 2012 finally but never got around to it. But for the moment it is 3.99 on Amazon so hopefully I'll finally get to it soon.

Heather Wells series Book 4: Size 12 and Ready to Rock by Meg Cabot-I adore the Heather Wells mysteries. The only reason it took me so long to get this was lack of funds.
The Iron Fey series Book 5: The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa-I tried to resist because I was happy with where Kagawa left the series but damn, the pull was too strong.
The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Book 5: The Warlock by Michael Scott-This series is my crack. However I wait till it comes out in paperback because thats the way I bought my first book and I have this thing about having all hardcover/paperback for my series.
Also got a awesome Harry Potter cloth tote bag to carry all my library books in.

Heather Wells series Book 4: Size 12 and Ready to Rock by Meg Cabot-I adore the Heather Wells mysteries. The only reason it took me so long to get this was lack of funds.
The Iron Fey series Book 5: The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa-I tried to resist because I was happy with where Kagawa left the series but damn, the pull was too strong.
The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Book 5: The Warlock by Michael Scott-This series is my crack. However I wait till it comes out in paperback because thats the way I bought my first book and I have this thing about having all hardcover/paperback for my series.
Also got a awesome Harry Potter cloth tote bag to carry all my library books in.

Stacking the Shelves: December 23rd

Bloodlines Book 2: The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead-Because I'm trying to get caught up. I meant to buy it sooner but sadly rent takes priority over books.

The Dead Girls Detective Agency by Suzy Cox-Ghost girls solving their own murder? Sign me up!
Hush Hush Book 4: Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick-The Hush Hush series for me are like Twinkies: totally bad but for some reason I can't stop consuming them (Well...was like Twinkies I guess I should say ;mourns her Hostess cupcakes;). I have the lowest of the low expectations for this but I'm going to read it anyway.
Magisterium by Jeff Hirsch-2012 fantasy debut that looked cool.
Mystic City by Theo Lawrence-2012 debut that looks interesting.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas-Gotta admit, my expectations are low for this one. The summary sounds like every other fantasy I've read and apparently this was a original fic online and frankly all this self publishing has left a bad taste in my mouth (I blame YOU Fifty Shades of Gray and Amanda Hocking). We'll see how this goes.
The Liar Society Book 2: The Lies That Bind by Laura Roecker-This one sounds like it builds on the more interesting parts of Liar Society so I'm giving the series another shot.
Bannon and Clare book 1: The Iron Wyrm Affair by Lilith Saintcrow-Adult steampunk. Apparently a mystery series in a steampunk world with a buddy cop element. I'm weak to this action, I just had to pick it up.
Delcroix Academy Book 1: The Talents by Inara Scott-Been meaning to look into this one for awhile now.
The Lying Game book 3: Two Truths and a Lie by Sara Shepard-Because I find this series better then PLL and actually want to keep up on it.

Gilt by Katherine Longshore-YA debut and Historical fiction that people have been raving about. Doubt it'll live up to my love of Code Name Verity but you never know.
Tokyo Heist by Diana Renn-YA debut that has gotten several good reviews and sounds a little like Heist Society so I'm in.

Nikki Heat series Book 3: Heat Rises by Richard Castle-Because it was a Kindle Daily Deal this week and I love Castle and I get a kick out of the Nikki Heat books.
Sweet Venom by Tara Lynn Childs-Currently free on Kindle. Hopefully I'll like this better then her mermaid series.

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson-About Tiger Lily obviously. I've always been more interested in her then in Wendy. Can't wait to read. YA Debut.
The Demon Catchers of Milan book 1 by Kat Beyer.-YA debut with a gorgeous cover. I'm not really expecting much from it, but perhaps it'll surprise me. Should be good reading for Halloween season at least.
So Close to You Book 1 by Rachel Carter-YA debut I've heard little about but has a potentially awesome sounding premise.
Something Strange and Deadly book 1 by Susan Dennard-This book had me at zombies and that gorgeous cover.
Magic Under Glass Book 2: Magic Under Stone by Jaclyn Dolamore-Sequel to the imaginative Magic Under Glass. Already finished. Didn't enjoy as much as the first but still as creative as ever.
Team Human by Justine Larbelestier and Sarah Rees Brennan-Fun looking concept. While I'm not crazy about the one book I've read by Larbelestier I adore Brennan's books and this looks right up my ally.
For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund-Basically Persuasion in space written by the author of the fabulous Killer Unicorns series. It's not the Killer Unicorn book 3 that I wanted but I'll take what I can get.
The Unnaturalists by Tiffany Trent-My steampunk addiction strikes again....plus, YA debut.
